A 14 BORE PERCUSSION SPORTING GUN SIGNED ROWNTREE CIRCA 1860, no visible serial number, with 29ins. iron skelp twist three stage octagonal to sixteen sided to round barrel with bead front-sight, the top flat stamped "ROWNTREE", under-rib with two rammer pipes, borderline engraved back-action lock decorated with some foliate engraving the cock engraved to match, walnut half-stocked fitted with iron mounts all engraved to match, complete with rod. The retailer was James Rowntree of Middlegate, Penrith, circa 1847 to 1869.
